in woody mulch in disturbed areas esp. at trailheads on the west coast, I think we have been calling it Conocybe aurea

Habitat was wood mulched area. I have never seen a Conocybe this large in Ohio.

the conocybe I find here routinely in wood chip mulch in red pine reforestation project area near the beach.
