Notes: Growing in/from needles. Odor (when crushed) familiar from other Mycenas (if I could only remember which), ‘bright’. Caps up to 2.5 cm. Gill are marginate but not strikingly; even with a hand lens, the darker (yellow-brown) gill edges are barely noticeable.
Spores 8-10 × 4-5. Badidia 4-spored ~30+5 x 9. Cheilocystidia form a sterile band; numerous; appear cylindrical (3 microns wide) when only tips show, but when spread out show a variety of shapes and shapelessness; ~45 × 7.
[Will add more pictures later; MO is not letting me now.]
