Recognized by sight: Note the purple tone in what is presumably a wound. However, it seems to lack a sterile base. Fruiting bodies were not mature enough to assess the color of the mature spore mass.

C. fragilis a possibility

However, I note that Index Fungorum lists C. fragilis as a more recent synonym to C. cyathiformis.

Purple spore mass

Kept these for the Cape Cod Mushroom Fair and by that time the spore mass had matured and was definitely purple.

I only collected C. fragilis at one site and a house grows there now. I like it as a species, but form works too.
