No herbarium specimen

Notes: Nearly submerged in well rotted conifer wood within sight of redwood grove, cap dark with black fibers, broadly convex with slight umbo. Umbo darker and more hirsuit than rest of cap. Margin recurved, visible from underside, wrinkled parallel with edge. Gills white, marginate, not attached to stipe. Stipe smooth white with overlaying brown-black vertical fibers, not twisted, tapering upward.
