No distinctive smell,

no foetens (smells like shit). You should have noticed that, even without a perfect nose…
About the cap colours, they aren’t distinctive for each species, they can vary a lot. The atropuncta I have seen, has been very pale, and the foetens I have found, have had pale beige to dark brown colours in one and the same collection.

This doesn’t look like the single collection of C. foetens I have seen. That one was paler gray than brown.

Camarophyllopsis smell

I did not get any distinctive odor but that is not saying much since I usually have a bad sence of smell with mushrooms. I agree it is a Camarophyllopsis. John

Any particular smell from this?

Looks like a Camarophyllopsis, possibly foetens.

I know, I have seen that you guys include both Hygrocybe and Camarophyllopsis in Hygrophorus, but that’s a bit confusing to me.
