I didn’t consider A. toxica!

I already responded in email, but for the record: I saw A. diemmii in a small guide to the common mushrooms of Patagonia, and it seemed to match pretty well based on descriptions on-line. I never considered any others.

How did you exclude A. toxica?

Hello, Jason,

A second interesting Amanita from Chile! I’m inclined to agree with your determination from what knowledge I have of amanitas of the “southern cone” of South America. How did you exclude Amanita toxica from consideration?

Very best,

Rod
