Andreas Gminder admires your conservativism. He describes Mollisia as being a notoriously and intractably difficult genus to delimit with micrography, much less without it.

The reason I used Dermateaceae (which embraces both Tapesia and Mollisia) is because I can’t (maybe no one can) tell them apart in the field! This should delight you.

Other notes: I actually do have an image of these fruitbodies. But they fill very little of the frame and thus there is no added information.

Other than that you would be able to tell that I did in fact see gray bloblets on a log (and they might even have been fungal in origin). But like last week, I’m unable to upload images at home. If it eases your mind, just imagine that all my observations do have images, but that they are not uploaded yet, and you will get them someday.
