A. chrysoblema is a name Dr. Tulloss has reintroduced to us. If you click on the name I’ve provided some more information. The only exception appears to be the solid yellow form in the PNW, which is currently going by the name A. muscaria var. formosa sensu Thiers. The solid PNW yellow muscaria appears to be part of the European clade.

I was drive-by voting. Can there really be something so muscarioid that goes by another name? Has Rod weighed in on this?

Why “not likely” for A. chrysoblema? All the current molecular data shows no difference between the colored form and the white form in the eastern U.S.
