Observation 18606: Arrhenia retiruga (Bull.) Redhead

When: 2009-01-04

Collection location: Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Douglas Smith (douglas)

No specimen available

Found on moss (of course…). I’m calling them this species mostly because they look just like what I’ve seen in the mid-peninsula, and I put those under the scope. And Darvin saw some of these from Point Reyes and put those under the scope, and confirmed A. retiruga. A. lobata is supposed to be around, but are also supposed to be slightly different, thicker, more grey, tend to have more wrinkles/gills.
