I had no clue what it is: just called it Acarospora because that was the only name I knew for crusts like that :-( Unfortunately I wasn’t able to secure a good specimen here: the rock was unyielding, and I had to scrape some areoles off of it, resulting in what I call “lichen dust” – very difficult to ID.

There’s another genus to consider, I think – Ionaspis. Check out Ionaspis lacustris, for example. This is an unusual color for Acarospora, which is usually some shade of yellow or brown (or white if pruinose) not orange.
