disagreeing with other folks Armilllaria IDs, but Tom Volk IDed this in person. If Tom doesn’t know Armillaria, there isn’t much hope that anyone does. Though I know anyone can make mistakes.

The dark scale can be degraded by environmental factors and the cap can be fairly light brown colored to dark reddish brown from what I’ve seen. Also Volk’s key mentions tapering stems on both mellea and solidipes, so that isn’t a distinguishing feature.
