Under Shasta red fir. Several individuals, including this group growing from a cespitose base. Pleasant smell. Not viscid.

This doesn’t fit any of the descriptions I’ve read for S. punctatipes or S. pungens.

For one thing, this observation (multiple individuals) did not have viscid caps.

So for the time being, Suillus sp. seems to be the best thing to call it.
