This lichen looks like two species on top of one another: “normal” Punctelia below and strange lobulate structure on top of that. But it’s one lichen. Similar one I collected last year was identified as P.missouriensis, and ID of this one is pending. Interestingly, C test is negative or almost negative when testing medula either of lobules or main thallus right underneath, while away from lobules it shows C+ red. I also have a find from the same area observation 99352 collected from trees (this one is on sandstone). At that time no voucher specimen was collected, so ID was purely visual. As you can see they look slightly different, and lobules behave differently.
