When: 2014-11-02

Collection location: Maitland, Florida, USA [Click for map]

Who: Matthew Schink (MSchink)

Specimen available

Growing from grafted citrus in Florida, specimen sent to me for examination. Initially identified as G.oerstedii per Steyaert(1972) as a synonym of G.tuberculosum.It more smoothly fit with Murrill’s (1908) original description.Taxonomy of Ganoderma from southern South America:
subgenus Ganoderma (1999) concluded that G.tuberculosum and G.oerstedii should be treated as separate sp.

BLAST search matches G.tuberculosum. Still unclear on the synonymy of G.oerstedii and G.tuberculosum, but considering the BLAST results, I am sticking with G.tuberculosum.
