Observation 187177: Russula brunneola Burl.
When: 2014-11-02
No herbarium specimen
0 Sequences

Notes:
Small 3" diameter cap with rather dense flesh and thicker cap than I expected. Then I looked more closely at the gills, and found many interconnected points between gills. Looks like a Russula trying to become a sequestrate Russula.

While I took many photos, only this one could be completed by my computer. The edges of the cap were inrolled, with off-white gills. The stipe when snapped was chalky and more white than the gills, about 2.5 inches long.
