Notes: Been watching this fungi for a week, from time it was small to the present photo where it has dried a bit and spread out. Always a smooth surface, same uniform color. Assuming I’ve got the right genus, noticed all the internet listings I could find showed un-smooth surfaces or color mottling. These things are all over the place here in the fall along with boletes.

it open next time I find one. thanks
Need to see the fungus sectioned from the top through the bottom to be certain. The stem-like structure is unusual for Lycopderdon, less so for Scleroderma.
