Notes: Each mid Autumn these small whitish Clitocybes appear in various places near my home (within a 4 acre area). The things that seems to distinguish these particular ones from the other type(s) of small whitish Clitocybes that occur here are the compressed stipes and the powdery dusting on the caps. Mushroom Expert lists these traits as specific characters for C. compressipes.
Spores seen here are smaller (max length maybe 5) than what is reported for C. compressipes in Mushroom Expert (5-8 × 3-5).
