Habitat: Black Oak Woodland
Habit: growing on soil, single specimen.
Fruiting body: looks like coral. Vertically branched and elongated. 11 cm high; 6 cm wide.
Fruiting body color: Purplish below, then it becomes grayish to brownish with yellowish tips.
Fruiting body Surface: dry, rubbery, spongy and dull
Base: White below, purplish above.
Base surface: Dull. Smooth with some squamulose
Base length: 6 cm
Base width: 4.5 cm
Flesh color: White
Gill: No gills or pores. Spores are produced from the tip of the branches.
Odor/ Taste: Not distinctive
Latex: None
Annulus: None
Volva type: None
