Observation 187989: Amanita Pers.
When: 2014-11-08
No herbarium specimen

Notes: There were four white mushrooms close together that appeared to be Amanita genus.

Three of the mushrooms looked very similar and were the closest together, 20 inches apart at most.

The fourth mushroom, looked similar, but had bled pink after being bitten by an animal. The “pink” one is documented in observation 187928.

I did not dig up or collect any of these. I hope to get back tomorrow and collect material.

The first photo shows one of the three that was intact.

The next two photos show one mushroom that also appears to have been attacked by a large animal. Interestingly, this one did not bleed “pink” as in Observation 187928 that was about 4 feet away.

The final photos show a third, similar mushroom being attacked by a yellow Slime Mold.

Again, I will go back and see what I can collect from these.
