DNA study for this specimen?

Gerhard,

Dr. J. Geml and I are conducting DNA studies on the muscaria complex. It would be very useful to us if you could loan me your herbarium material of this yellow muscaria. In the U.S., we have found that we cannot distinguish the yellow and red populations of our muscaria-like species via DNA or micromorphologically. I have never seen such a yellow muscaria from Europe…except for the taxa that are considered separate species and occur with plants such as Cistus in the Mediterranean region.

I would like to borrow your herbarium material (at least in part) for this collection. We need at the very least a section of the cap with the gills in good condition.

Very best,

R
