several of these have photos coming down the pipe. i decided to do the species list all at once for convenience’s sake.
this is a dead end topic with you. That you have turned on me and my observations after going out of my way to moderate between opposing viewpoints on this issue — including yours, however antagonistic they may be — is my personal last straw. if you refuse to see any merit in the unequivocally meritorious act of recording a fungal what, where and when without a photographic “guarantee,” as if such a thing existed, i suggest you do so privately. this dead horse is turning into glue with all the beatings its been dealt lately.
they’re not useless, and I don’t find them disruptive.
Even if they were, you were not guaranteed an undisrupted experience by anyone associated with this site. What privilege are you levying here?
I also think it’s odd that you ask people to refrain from insulting you (a reasonable request) when you seem so ready to insult people’s efforts to add data. Calling them “spam” “useless” really does sting when you are in fact exerting many years of learning and volunteering time and data to this site.
By any account, your antagonistic comments are much more disruptive and spammy than anything else I’ve seen on the site recently.
If you want to make this site better, there are lots of ways to do it, and none of them involve making the experience of this site worse for people like Danny, who is clearly a valuable contributor.
They’re not only useless, they are disruptive.
