Observation 18922: Postia pelliculosa (Berk.) Rajchenb.

When: 2009-02-26

Collection location: Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego, Tierra del Fuego, Argentina [Click for map]

Who: Jason Hollinger (jason)

No specimen available

Notes:
Didn’t try to preserve this one, sorry. Interesting pinkish color, looks soft but it is rather firm. If you squeeze the pores it exudes a slightly-yellowish thin liquid (you can see a drop on the underside in the second photo). The pores are very minute and crowded. It was growing on (of course) Nothofagus pumilio.
