Observation 189664: Stereum ostrea (Blume & T. Nees) Fr.

This fungus was found growing on a dead log next to moss, and it was under a shaded area with dead leaves and plant foliage around it.

It had no distinct smell to it.

This fungus was very thin and did not weight much at all. It was found growing like shelves on a log. It had cream, brown, and tan patterned lines on the top, and the bottom was just a cream color.

No spores were found on this fungus, but a very long set of basidia with very short sterigmata were found under a microscope.
