Observation 189829: Guepinia helvelloides (DC.) Fr.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: It looks like it was just in some forest duff, I couldn’t detect it growing on any stick or buried log.

Bright reddish orange color and gelatinous/punky texture, not viscid tho.

An ascomycete, but what?? I thought it might be related to cup fungi, but it has a kind of distinct stalk and no distinct ‘cup’
