Notes: found under coast live oak. destined for the fry pan, so short window for those wanting samples.

this is the second East Bay butter bolete that I have found that did NOT have a yellow context throughout.

Recognized by sight: brown-yellow cap w/pinkish tones, very solid fb, finely reticulate at apex, stipe yellow and reddish at base, context yellow near surface but white in center, brownish (vinaceous?) at base.
