It can be tricky at times, but very often Amanita in section Lepidella stand out without having to check for in/amyloid spore reactions.

The obscure volva, innate nature of the warts on the cap (doesn’t look like they are sitting on top of a smoother layer of gelatinized hyphae), overall white coloration, and overhanging cottony edge of the cap are all suggestive to me of Section Lepidella.

Amanita chrysoblema is a muscarioid taxon I think, and so should have different-looking volval remnants (concentric rings), and differently textured cap surface (with a smooth surface under the warts).

thanks for the proposal. What tells you that this is sect. Lepidella since we don’t know whether or not the spores are amyloid?
