There were growing in my backyard on a hugh pile of wood chips composed mainly of conifers and one small apple tree. sorry, no microscopy.

Did you ever cut one of these in half? They kind of look different from the ones I see on Pinus sabiniana logs, it would be cool to see microscopy.

Here in the east we call this Tricholomopsis rutilans… just kidding! Nice closeup on the gills. Striking color!

those luteofolius look rather suspect, but i guess thats expected with the Gymnopilus genus?
