Observation 191601: Agaricomycetes Doweld

Notes: Found on the ground on a walking trail near moss after heavy rainfall. The hymenophore was made of white spikes. It was connected to a central stipe that was unbranched. The stipe was spongy in texture and was gray in color.

There might have been roots underneath or wood from a support wall. The fungus was growing off the side of a raised walking path. There are plenty of trees in the meadow like oak trees. I am going to add another picture too to give a better visual.

Occurs on wood. Was this by chance connected to buried wood?
