Mature specimens smell like a fish market.

The highly Hypomycesized ones smelled awful.
Odor of “fish market” a little surprising, at least to me. Mature R. occidentalis should have odors of banana. Only very “off” specimens approach fish market odor, and these are often saturated with water.
