Notes: Three mushrooms, growing on bark of a living tanoak, covered with moss. Caps 5 mm, stems up to 2 cm. A strip of pellicle peels off to the center.
Spores 10-12 × 5-6. Basidia 2- and 4-spored, ~ #0+3 x 7. Cheilocystidia in a band, ~30-40 × 11-13. No pleurocystidia. Clamps present.
Microscopically, this little Mycena is similar to M. leptocephala, including irregularly inflated caulocytidia.
