Observation 192267: Sarcoscypha occidentalis (Schwein.) Sacc.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: The specimen was 0.8cm X 0.6cm, as shown it is completely bright red with a stipe that is <1 cm long. no gills were apparent. the specimen was growing solitary off of a bark of oak wood. The texture of the specimen was gelatinous. Under the microscope, the asci were very apparent as well as the ascospores.
