Habitat: Black Oak Woodland
Habit: Dense cluster on a tree.
Fruiting body: Round Puffball.
Fruiting body color: Brown reddish color
Fruiting body Surface: Dull and dry. Covered with brown spines (2mm)
Fruiting body size: 2.0 cm wide, 4.0 cm high.
Flesh: Cotton-like gleba that changed color to light green.
Stem: None.
Base of fruiting body: lots of white mycelial (white rhizomorphs) strings attaching the fruiting body to the wood.
Odor: earthy
Latex: None
Annulus: None
Volva type: None
