Observation 192784: Ganoderma applanatum group
When: 2014-12-09
Who: MSchink

Notes: Specimen was observed growing for one season. Last years fruit was removed in April, it is shown torn in half. Photos taken every few weeks throughout the summer, specimen ceased growing sometime in September, harvested mid November.

While growing specimen pores bruised dark brown quite readily, always healing after a week or so, once dry specimen no longer bruised X seen on the underside.

Matches the description of Ganoderma megaloma including the prominent wide sterile margin sorrounding the pores.
