Observation 193150: Boletaceae Chevall.
When: 2014-12-03

Notes: I have found several of this species of late but all were too mature to be of any value. The underneath area of the cap seems to deteriorate very quickly into a black mass well before the fungi shows any other signs of age or maturity. This fungi was located on a bank of soil almost obscured by local foliage (groundcover). The area is Eucalyptus forest bordering on a semi rainforest area in this mountain. The fungi was already showing signs of deterioration but is the best specimen I have found recently.
