Observation 193185: Lepista flaccida (Sowerby) Pat.
When: 2014-12-09

Notes: Growing in mixed woods, mostly live oak and tanoak.
Caps up to 11.0 cm across, somewhat greasy and rubbery.
Spore print slightly creamy and spores weakly amyloid.
Spores ~ 4.0-4.5 X 3.5-4.0 microns with prominent warts.
Yes, definitely what we are calling Lepista flaccida(Clitocybe flaccida) in this area. Various keys weren’t working because I kept saying the spores were somewhat amyloid, and the habitat seemed wrong. I doubt there was any Monterey pine, Cypress or Eucalyptus in this area. The spores did darken in Melzers somewhat but I did have a deep spore print.
