Specimens collected from lawn. Cap 7 cm. across, mostly white but aging to dingy beige, staining bright yellow at margin when rubbed, fading to light brown. The flesh stains very light yellow, but quickly fades to very light brown when bruised. Stalk 1 cm. across, 5 cm. long. Veil cottony. End of stalk stains orange when nicked. Odor mildly phenolic. Spore print light brown.

re-checked stipe stain

Re-checked location 12/15/14. Stipes did not stain when nicked. There was light brown bruising at the edges of the wound. Cut flesh smells like paste.
