Notes: This is referred to as Lepiota rachodes in David Arora’s ATtRPaM and MD, but Vellinga’s research since seems to indicate it is more closely related to Chlorophyllum. I think it has actually gone through being called Macrolepiota at some point since it was even a Lepiota. Anyway I’m curious to hear if anyone thinks there’s any chance whatsoever these are poisonous :), they look like the edible kind to me due to size, white spore print, and orange/red staining flesh.

I did that this time around, check out the bottom photo; the spore print was white and quite dense! Wouldn’t have eaten it otherwise because of what you said :)
do a spore print before consuming next time.
white is all right; green is mean. the macro for both are quite similar.
Cooked them in coconut oil — they were delicious! No digestive upsets recorded ;)
even the edible to most Chlorophyllums (brunneum and rachodes) can cause some pretty severe digestive upsets in more than a few. unfortunately, you won’t know until you try them, so just eat a little bit the first time, after cooking them well.
