Notes: On decaying hardwood log. Cap 15 mm, brown, striated,conic w/umbo, hygrophanous. Gills cinnamon brown, attached; secondary gills. Stalk 5 cm X 2 mm, light brown (darker toward base), scurfy, bulbous base. Ring whitish, grooved above, smooth below. Spores light brown.

Recognized by sight: Current name for Conocybe rugosa, “doubtful” because there are several of these annulate Pholiotina (sect. Pholiotina) in North America and they need micro to distinguish even though some less than honest mycologists would have people think otherwise out of sheer laziness.
