Hi Michael,
I know off this problem as I have faced it too particularly with collections passed onto Landcare Research for inclusion into our national fungi herbarium. I usually give the location when not on public land as Private property followed by the street address eg. Private property, Wairere Rd, Waitakere, Auckland. This allows this fungus to be mapped to within a few kilometers rather then a few 100 kilometers but I guess the choose is yours.

The reason I was interested in location as I know may of the bush reserves around Auckland and have found each has its own group of common fungi by knowing the location I can have a better guess as to species.

Regards Clive

Hi Clive,
I would say the exact location but it is private property, all of my observations are from an 8 acre piece of land near Kaipara harbour!

Are a stink horn that is horn shaped :) one of NZ few. I am impressed at what you are finding at this time of the year. Have you considered been more accurate with the location, as Auckland is a big area?
Cheers Clive
