Found under hardwoods. “Brittle” is not quite right, but they did break easily and the surface of the cap lent itself to removal. The odor was strong and mildly unpleasant; the best I can do is that it smelled of chemicals. Inrolled margins. Stocky and robust body. Rust-colored cap that dissipates to buff toward the margins. Crowded, dull-white gills.
