Observation 195285: Ganoderma oregonense Murrill
When: 2011-10-17
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Super amazing blue skin Ganorderma I happened upon while treading through the forest around Kalaloch Lodge in Olympic National Park back when I was living there in 2011. Pulled it from a dead tree.

Forgive my shaky snap of the second specimen that shows the red skin fading to blue. I was super excited and it was low lighting!

Unfortunately, I didn’t have any way of storing or collecting the specimen and if I ever head back I’d like to hunt this puppy down again. I did see another similar species along the foot path with the bridge next to Lake Quinault Lodge.

What the heck is it!? Has anyone seen anything else like it?
