Observation 195422: Amanita sect. Amanita

Small white capped fungi just showing at surface when found. Cleared leaves and forest debris to take image.. Cap with serrations and slightly sticky. Stipe same colour as cap and showing possible volva at base. Gills white and close.

This material has been received, We noticed you were not sure about assigning this MO# to the collection you sent us. The material we received appears to have a ring at the top of the stem, which is not observed in the pictures for this observation. Perhaps it might be connected to a different MO#?

An interesting little species that could belong to Amanita sect. Amanita. As always, I find it quite interesting to see your observations from the state forest. And, as always, I would be quite interested in seen whatever part of your material you can spare to send to Roosevelt.
