No herbarium specimen

Notes: Very large bolete, over 20 cm. in height, in thick leaf litter under coast live oak (Quercus agrifolia). Cap brownish, slightly viscid when wet, about 16 cm broad. Pores rusty-red, browning slowly after collecting. Stalk resist brown, very sturdy, and very thick and bulbous, about 8.5 to 9 cm. at apex, did not appear reticulate. Cap and stalk blueing very quickly after cutting. ID suggestions welcome.
