No herbarium specimen

Notes: On alder stump at high tide line. Fleshy and no strong odor. Not quite as lilac-colored as the photograph suggests. I can collect and further inspect if I know what characteristics to look for.

too big for Pleurotopsis longinqua?

I’ve gt a maximum size of 4 centimeters for P. Longiqua at:

Although that species looks like a likely candidate for the smaller specimens I found on the same stump. Do you know if there is a definitive character (microscopic, etc) that I could check for?
