Observation 196547: Lactarius rubidus (Hesler & A.H. Sm.) Methven

On ground by side of pathway under tanoak and douglas fir. Very dry conditions for weeks.

Recognized by sight: azonate orange brown 3 cm. cap with depressed center, yellowish subdecurrent gills, stem color of cap, milk watery white and scanty and not changing or staining, mild taste, sweet odor when dried (Donna thinks burnt sugar), whitish spore deposit
