Notes:
on vertical basalt cliff; small steep east-facing clifflet on east side of medium-sized wetland

THALLUS atrobrunnea-type, pale greenish-brownish to rich brown, areolate to subsquamulose, areoles shiny and ~convex, CORTEX and MEDULLA K- C- KC- (or sometimes weakly fleeting pink) UV- P- I-, APOTHECIA lecanorine or aspicilioid in raised areoles, DISKS epruinose to faintly pruinose, red-brown, nearly the same color as the thallus, RIMS mostly white pruinose, sometimes cracked, EPIHYMENIUM red-brown, POL+ clearing in K, HYMENIUM hyaline, clear, SUBHYMENIUM hyaline, AMPHITHECIUM with continuous algal layer just under subhymenium and parathecium, hyaline below that and POL+ clearing in K, PARAPHYSES branched and anastomosing, ASCI long cylindrical to narrowly clavate with obvious K/I+ blue narrow tube through center of otherwise K/I- thick thollus, SPORES 8 per ascus, hyaline, simple, smooth, ellipsoid to obliquely ovoid, halonate, ~20-22 × 8-10 µm, PYCNIDIA not found
