it depends on the habitat; When growing on rock the lobes are apressed, while on bark sometimes not so much (like in these specimens), perhaps depending on the humidity and the level exposition to sun.

why all photos (and descriptions) identifying this lichen show apressed lobes, and I find them always like these.
