Recognized by sight: I heard a rumor that Josh Birkebak knows of a rarely collected pinkish-tan California Alloclavaria… maybe this is it.

I had always assumed they were a strange Alloclavaria with out any micro. There are probably three Alloclavarias out on the west. A. purpurea being the real common one and 2 other rare ones with different colorations (and micro). I guess I was wrong!

There are 8 obs. of this species on this site from the west Coast. Most of them look like C.fumosa.

This is not supposed to be out west!

That sure looks like C. fumosa but it has never been report (or collected to my knowledge) out there! dammit know I have to rewrite the whole monograph!
