The universal veil looks as though it might be breaking up.

Do you recall if the universal veil was turning grayish? It seems to me that the upper left universal veil fragment on the stipe base is grayish.

If that is the case, this will not be Amanita fulva. Do you recall whether the cap color is what you saw or is it paler due to glare (perhaps from a flash?)?
