Observation 196857: Harmajaea harperi Dima & P. Alvarado

Notes:
gills gray to dark gray, very large size, under redwoods in thick duff, odor not strong as in C. nebularis.

I think it’s the same thing that Dimitar is calling C. harperi here.

It matches Murrill’s description pretty well, although I’m surprised it came in from Golden Gate Park – must’ve been a different place in the early 1900s.

However Harmaja since has decided it is a Rhodocybe, presumably based on inspecting type material… Which throws all of this into confusion.
